Sydney's 2nd Birthday Party

Sydney's 2nd birthday party was a few weeks ago.  We all had so much fun!  She's always on cloud nine when we have company at the house.

The kids decorated cupcakes.  Sydney decorated hers first and we learned that the kids should not pour the sprinkles on the cupcakes by themselves.  So, we poured the sprinkles onto their hands and they could put the sprinkles on their cupcakes. 

 The kids also decorated aprons with stamps.  This was a great activity!

Easter, 2012

The day before Easter we had breakfast with the Easter bunny at the Houston Zoo.  This was a fun perk of being a member of the zoo!  Sydney wasn't too fond of the Easter Bunny, as you can tell.
On Easter Sunday we met at my parents' house for an Easter egg hunt and lunch.  We always have so much fun when we are all together!

This was Jonah's first Easter (Nathan & Leah's new baby).  Elizabeth and I were both pregnant. 

California Vacation, March 2012

Let's see if I can blog more often now! :)

In March, we had a wonderful vacation in California!  It started out rocky as Sydney needed another antibiotic to kick her ear infection.  After a day and half though, we were off having fun!  We visited the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, the Safari, the Cliffs and a cute 2-5 year old play ground.  We had a blast!

After a few days in San Diego with our little family, we drove 3 hours North to visit Scotty's family. Sydney loved playing with her cousins! It's always nice to visit them!

Sydney was Minnie Mouse for Halloween this year.  She looked so cute and of course she wouldn't let Mickey Mouse leave her side!  Olivia, Sydney's friend, stopped by for a little while.  Sydney was so sweet and gave Olivia a kiss! 

Sydney Brushing Goats

Sydney was able to pet and brush the coats of goats at the zoo. As Scotty describes it, "Sydney's way of brushing anyone's hair is more of a rake motion." So, she didn't quite "brush" the goats. She more like swatted them with the brush. These goats were great sports though! They didn't mind one bit! Here's a funny video of her "brushing" the goats.

Fun at the Zoo

We went to the Houston Zoo this morning.  It was a perfect day to go.  The weather was great and the animals were out and ready to be seen.  The zoo is decorated for Halloween with pumpkins everywhere!  There were pumpkins in every animal area.  The monkeys were eating pumpkins and the sea lions were using the pumpkins as balls.  We got to feed the giraffes in the new African Safari exhibit.  It was exciting to be that close to a giraffe!  We had such a great day!

Mini Beach Vacation

This weekend we rented a beach house in Galveston with some good friends.  This was Sydney's first time to see the beach and she loved it!  We had a blast and we can't wait for our next beach vacation!
