Pictures of Baby Shannon

Last Wednesday was exciting! We got to see our baby girl again! She is still adorable! Her measurements were great too! She even has Scotty's feet!! "How do you know she has Scotty's feet?" you say? Trust us, she DEFINITELY has Scotty's feet!! We have laughed and laughed about this all week!

Our baby is so precious!

21 Weeks!!

This has been one really great week!!! For one, I made it half way! I'm really excited, but at the same time I'm thinking, "Oh wow! We're going to have a baby in less than 5 months! CRAZY!!!" I am really happy and really embracing my pregnancy. I wish I would have known 3 months ago that things would be this great! Vomiting on the bus may not have been so bad. :)

Last week I started to feel our little girl!! I have to admit that there were plenty times that I told Scotty, "I really think I'm feeling her!!" Then, a few minutes later I'd realize, "Nope, that was just a gas bubble." Scotty and I have actually had a ton of laughs due to me thinking that I have felt her. Why is gas such a funny subject? This poor little girl! Ha! I love every minute of this! Feeling a baby inside of me has got to be one of the best experiences! It's a new connection with us to add to everything else. Then, just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I felt her on the outside of my belly tonight! I can't wait to share this with Scotty!

The belly is growing!!

William Gabriel Klemcke is here!!!!!

Leah and Nathan welcomed little William into the world on November 25th. He was born at 8:02am the day before Thanksgiving. I guess he didn't want to miss the Thanksgiving feast! William weighed 6 lbs. 15.5 oz. and was 19.25 inches long. He is so precious and is already giving such sweet smiles! Leah is doing well and enjoying him at home.

Random Thoughts at 17 1/2 Weeks

I have discovered how incredibly comfy maternity pants can be!!! I'm not sure why anyone would ever want to wear regular pants after wearing these super, cozy maternity pants! My mom has been finding some great bargain pants for me! Thanks, Mom!

I have heard of what the first feelings of the baby feel like. Sometimes I think that I'm feeling her move around, but I'm not certain. It's so hard to tell. It's ok though. I know I will feel her soon enough.

Second trimester ROCKS!!!! Why isn't the whole pregnancy this way? Everything is better! My nausea is completely gone, for the most part, I actually am back to my happy self and I'm starting to feel this '2nd trimester burst of energy' that so many people talk about! I love the second trimester! I'm really excited that I shouldn't be nauseous for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Don't you know that I'm really looking forward to eating all of that delicious food!!

One of my co-workers that did not know I was pregnant asked me if I was pregnant yesterday! I was so excited! I guess it's getting a bit more obvious that little Shannon is in there! How exciting!

And my last random thought ... On Sunday I went to Target to find some more maternity pants. I walked over to the baby section. This is the first time I have been in a baby section since I found out I was pregnant. I just stood there and my eyes started to swell up with tears of excitement. God has given me one of the most precious gifts. I just can't believe sometimes how blessed I am. I am truly grateful and so happy. God is amazing!

Baby Shannon is a .......... GIRL

We had our 16.5 week appointment last week. Baby Shannon looks amazing and is definitely getting bigger! We are so excited to be having a girl!!!

Alana's 2nd Birthday Party

Saturday was Alana's 2nd birthday party (my niece). It was so much fun! Alana has got to be one of the cutest two year olds ever! :)

Natalie's High School Reunion

Last weekend Scotty had the privilege of attending my high school reunion with me. I say privileged because Scotty tried to find every excuse not to go. I think overall he had a great time though. :) It was great to see old friends, to catch up and to share the good news about Baby Shannon! It was a fun night!

13 Weeks & New Ultrasound Picture

The week before last was horrible. I had a nasty virus that made me stay home all week from work. The good thing is that I thought my nausea subsided. ...then the following week it was back! Yuck!

The most exciting thing of that week was seeing our little one again! Isn't she/he beautiful!?! It was the best ultrasound yet! Baby Shannon has a nose, fingers and toes! She/he was moving around so much. It's amazing that I can't feel a thing. The baby was shaking on the umbilical cord and kicking its legs up and down. It was so neat! What a blessing from God that Baby Shannon already looks perfect!

12 Weeks

Ok, some of you have been bugging me about taking belly pictures. So, here's my HUGE belly at 12 weeks! :)

Sharing the News

Saturday was a big day for Scotty and me. After finding out that the baby is healthy, we felt it was safe to tell everyone. Since we were not successful in getting all of Scotty's family on Skype so that we could tell them in the best possible 'in person' way we can from 3 states away, Scotty just called them on the phone. They are all thrilled! About ten minutes after Scotty hung up with his mom, his best friend's mom, Barbie, called him. Oh yeah, the news is spreading like wildfire, just as we suspected it would.
Saturday morning Scotty and I drove to my aunt and uncle's house in Round Rock for a family weekend with my mom's side of the family. Scotty had a shirt made for me that said, "Bun in Oven" on the front and "Baking in Progress" on the back. I wore the shirt that day and that is how everyone would know that we are expecting. I had to tell a couple of people to look at my shirt that day, but for the most part they caught on quickly. Of course, everyone was excited!
I thought it was comical, yet so true, that my sister suspected that I was pregnant. She said that every time I talked to her on the phone I didn't have a lot to say and it seemed like I was keeping something from her. We are very close sisters and it doesn't surprise me that she felt this way, as I felt like I had to watch everything I said to her and at times it was easier to just avoid people than to watch what I say. Leah, my sister-in-law who is 7 months pregnant, said she kept having dreams of me, pregnant, in Alaska. How funny!
Many were shocked that I kept a HUGE secret for 2 months without telling anyone. Yep, I am too actually! I'm so glad that the secret is out and I don't have to keep watching what I say.
I will tell work soon. This morning sickness is getting tough and it's getting harder to hide it. In the meantime though, I'm so glad that our loved ones finally know!!! Thanks for all of your support!! This baby is already loved by so many people. We are incredibly blessed.

First Doctor Appointment

Wednesday was one of the most exciting days! We had our first dr. appointment. Baby Shannon is healthy and looks great! It was so neat to see him/her wiggle, even though I can't feel anything. We really loved the dr. and so far we are happy with our choice. We mentioned the cataract issue that runs in Scotty's family and she said she would set us up with a high-risk dr. to check everything out in more detail once I am further along in the pregnancy. We have another appointment in two weeks for another sonogram and genetic tests. We are so blessed that everything went well on Wednesday and that we have a healthy baby! We pray that the rest of the pregnancy goes just as well!

Oh the joy of being pregnant ...

First off I have to say that I do feel truly blessed with this gift from God that is growing inside of me. I thank God every day for this gift that he's given to Scotty and me.
....I also ask Him to be with me every day, to take away my nausea, to make the gas pains go away ... I could go on and on. I always thought and still think that pregnant women are absolutely beautiful. I just never knew how hard it is to be a pregnant woman.
The last couple of weeks I've been trying to figure out exactly what my body is doing and what it is telling me. I tend to not eat a whole lot generally. So, it's been tough to realize that I need to eat so much in order to satisfy myself and this little one. I guess the good thing is that I usually know when I'm hungry. The thing that I thought was nausea, I think now is indigestion. Yes, really fun stuff here. Don't get me wrong, the nausea is still there, just not as often as the indigestion. Yuck! And the gas pains ... oh goodness - it hurts.
This week my allergies have been bothering me. I've tried to tough it out without taking anything, but finally broke down and called the nurse to see if I can in fact take Zyrtec D. Yippy! I can! So, after a really tough morning of morning sickness, allergies and half a work day. I bought some Zyrtec D and plan to take it tomorrow morning. That's probably the best news all week. The other good news is that I've read that all of these crazy feelings and symptoms should go away after the first trimester. Lord, please bless me with this!!
Through all of this I think it's brought Scotty and I even closer. He has really been sweet and caring through all of this. He's amazing and I'm so blessed to have him as a husband and to go though this with him.
It is really becoming tough to not tell anyone. It's really killing me that my mom doesn't know. I want to ask her a lot of things and share so much with her. Two more weeks until the dr. visit and then we will tell everyone! :) I can't wait!

Morning Sickness ....

It sure is fun when others can witness my wonderful morning sickness. This morning I felt a bit nauseous before I left the house and on the way to the bus stop. I got on the bus and took my much needed nap, but woke up suddenly feeling as though this nauseous business was actually about to ... go somewhere. I reached for my lunch bag and yep, there it went. Yuck!!!!! On the bus!!!!! Luckily the guy next to me was sleeping ... or maybe he was pretending to sleep because he didn't feel like asking the crazy sick lady if she was ok. I got off the bus mortified. My first stop was to the trash can to throw away my whole lunch bag with my lunch and snacks in it. Then I called Scotty to let him know that his wife officially had morning sickness. After that, I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste and ran to the restroom. Let's hope this doesn't become a normal occurrence.

6 Weeks and Counting ...

I'm 6 weeks along this week. The articles that I've read say that fatigue is going to be in full force this week. Boy were they right!!! I am so sleepy! This morning I couldn't wait to get on the bus so that I could take a nap. That just sounds so ridiculous to me! The articles also say that the baby is growing limbs this week. Fun!

Well, it's really killing me that my family doesn't know, especially my parents. I'm not so good at keeping secrets. I can't believe I've kept this one for two weeks now! I found a great OBGYN last week. My first appt. is in 3 weeks. I'll be 9 weeks along by then. I'm pretty excited about it. Scotty and I have decided that if everything goes well, then we'll start telling people then.

I had a girls weekend this past weekend in New Braunfels with Miranda, Jana and Lori. It was really difficult to keep the secret. One of them asked me if I was already pregnant because I wasn't drinking. I lied. Oops! Sorry, Lori! We went to the outlets, got pedicures and ate some fabulous food! It was a great weekend with the girls!

Last week Scotty came home with a book, So You're Going To Be A Dad. I think it's so cute that he wants to read up on all of this. He says he has a lot to learn. I'm sure we both do, but I am confident that he's going to be a wonderful dad. He's already a wonderful husband.

WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!!!!

Scotty and I are going to have a baby!!! We are sooooo excited!!! What an amazing miracle that God has blessed us with!!

On Wednesday, August 19th I took two pregnancy tests and they both came out positive. Just for even more confirmation, I took one more test the next morning. Scotty and I were filled with excitement!! It is still very surreal to us. My body is going through a ton of changes (already!) that show me that things are happening in there and Scotty, well, he just sees the positive pregnancy test. We want to scream it off the roof top that we are pregnant, but right now, we know we should wait to make sure everything is ok. I always thought I would be filled with anxiety and that I would be scared just thinking about the actual labor, but right now I'm just focusing on this weird stuff that happening in my body and the excitement of what's to come.

When I charted my dates online last month I noticed that if we conceived this month the baby's due date would be April 25th. That is right smack in the middle of the two week window between mine and Scotty's birthdays. Of all the 52 weeks in the year!! I actually asked Scotty if he wanted to skip this month and he said no with a little giggle. So, wouldn't you know that now the baby is due around our birthdays!! We both think it's pretty comical.

Our plan is to wait a few more weeks before telling anyone. So, at this point, I'm going to blog here so that people can come back to see what they missed for the last 2 months.

This is going to be an amazing journey and we can't wait to see what God has in store for us!!
